Ecoblocks
are a natural and environmentally friendly fuel, which consists of no
other substances or additives but pure wood.
Ecoblocks
compared to Firewood
Ecoblocks contain only ~
9% water compared to dried firewood in is natural form, which
contains 25% to 30%.
Ecoblocks are also denser
then most naturally occurring firewood, so you burn fewer Ecoblocks
than natural firewood to achieve the same heat output.
Ecoblocks burn safely
without sparks or spitting unlike firewood.
Ecoblocks take less
storage space and are stored easier than firewood due to shape.
Ecoblocks radiate more
heat on a weight for weight basis then natural firewood.
Ecoblocks have 90% of the
mass of the log available for useful heat leaving only 1% ash
residue. (9% water)
Ecoblocks are quick to
light, easy to burn and highly heat efficient.
Ecoblocks
compared to Peat Briquettes
Ecoblocks are CO2 neutral
while peat briquettes add this greenhouse gas to the atmosphere.
Ecoblocks are made from
waste material that would otherwise go to landfill sites or be burned
in an uncontrolled manner.
Ecoblocks are a renewable
energy source, the peat supply will be exhausted in 2030.
Ecoblocks have a heat
value per ton of approximately 5004 kWh only slightly less then Peat
Briquettes at 5362 kWh.
Ecoblocks have a 1% ash
residue, Peat Briquette have a 5% ash residue.
Ecoblocks
compared to Coal
Ecoblocks are CO2 neutral
while coal adds this greenhouse gas to the atmosphere.
Ecoblocks are made from
waste material that would otherwise go to landfill sites or burned in
an uncontrolled manner.
Ecoblocks are a renewable
energy source, the coal supply will be exhausted in 2070.
Ecoblocks is classed as a
smokeless fuel and has less ash residue 1%, coal 10%~25%.
Ecoblocks have a heat
value per ton of approximately 5004 kWh only slightly less then Brown
Coal at 5763 kWh.
Ecoblocks
compared to Natural Gas
Ecoblocks are CO2 neutral
while Natural Gas adds this greenhouse gas to the atmosphere.
Ecoblocks are made from
waste material that would otherwise go to landfill sites or burned in
an uncontrolled manner.
Ecoblocks are a renewable
energy source, the Natural Gas supply will be exhausted in 2070. The
supply of 80% of the Natural Gas is via a single pipeline from
Scotland, if this pipeline is damaged via terrorist or natural causes
the Gas supply with be restricted for 10 to 15 weeks.
Where can I use them?
Ecoblocks
are Environmentally Friendly, smokeless fuel, with a low ash content
of 1%, you can use this ash as a garden fertilizer.
Ecoblocks
meet the European standards for Bio-fuels and are 100% IRISH made.
Ecoblocks
can be burnt in any fireplace, stove or range where coal, peat or
wood is used.
Ecoblocks
will burn with other forms of solid fuel.
Ecoblocks
don’t spit or spark.
Ecoblocks
will start to burn easily and quickly. Will light from firelights,
kindling or twisted paper.
Ecoblocks
burn with a high flame so don’t over fill the fireplace or stove.
They expand when burning so allow space for this expansion.
Don’t poke at the
Ecoblocks when burning, as this will reduce burning time.
